Influenced by Susan Sontag’s book ‘Regarding the Pain of Others’ this work aims to explore the effects of visual representation of violence and the individual responsibility of the spectator. The artist used 7 amateur videos, downloaded from the internet. These videos depict scenes of extreme cruelty and violence, in which real people are suffering and dying. Each of the 7 participants were filmed watching respectively one video. Afterwards they were questioned about their experience.
